Is Dis-ease Genetics or Not?
I just read this information by Christiane Northrup, M.D, regarding our thoughts and dis-ease.
Many of you know that your thoughts can affect your health. And, most of you have heard stories of people recovering from grave illnesses when modern medicine failed. Doctors often use terms such as “spontaneous remission,” “faith healing” and “miracles.”
I have always said emotions that are freely experienced and expressed without judgment or attachment tend to support health. The now-popular field of epigenetics (the science of how our environment affects our genes) (http://www.whatisepigenetics.com/fundamentals) is proving that we do, in fact, have the ultimate control over how our genes will express in our lifetime. In other words: your DNA is responsive to changes in your environment. And your thoughts are your environment!
My take on this information:
I’ve known for a long time how true her statements are. I’ve also gone around in circles with people regarding the heart attack I had in 2012. The doctors say it’s genetics; others say it’s genetics. Yes, my immediate family has huge heart illnesses. HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean it was from genetics. I believe it is more about the environment I grew up in with all the meat and potato meals; all the stress I held inside over the many years of an abusive relationship, attempting to handle everything myself, and not knowing any different. As well as, focusing on what I DIDN’T want. The Universe gives you what you focus on, whether you want it or not.
In my mind, it was an event. An event that let me know I needed to still do something different in the way I was living my life. I’ve been practicing being aware of my thoughts and word usage for years. I know how to manifest what I desire in my life. I also knew I still needed to allow myself to accept and ask for more help instead of attempting to do it all myself.
Your thoughts are your environment too. Just like it’s stated above how important your thoughts are to the results you create in your life. I’ve been sharing and teaching this concept to others for quite some time now. So often we think we are focusing on what we want, when we are really focusing on what we don’t want. It only takes turning those thoughts around to tell the Universe what you really want vs. what you don’t want.
