Meal Planning Made Easy
Research shows that it can be healthier to eat at home as you are more likely to make healthier choices and eat smaller portions. As much as eating out is fun, it is not as healthy to do so on a regular basis.
Meal planning saves time, money and relieves the stress of “what’s for dinner”? Whether you are a busy mom, dad or single, meal planning will help you live a healthier lifestyle.
I am in the single category and I found my problem was not having enough food in the house. My shopping was random and disorganized and my refrigerator with often empty. Thus, I would eat out a lot and grab unhealthy fast food. My weight was going up and down, but since I have been with Tastefully Simple and have been more organized with my meal planning, my weight has stabilized.
Tastefully Simple has meal kits, assortments and individual products that make meal planning easier.
My suggestion for the best way to organize your meals is to plan out breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks seven days in advance.
Do a chart or spreadsheet listing the seven days with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks on top and list what you are going to eat for each.
Then do a shopping list based on your choices. I like to organize my shopping list based on the sections in a grocery store with categories such as meat, produce, deli, dairy, and beverages, etc. By doing this I’m not running back-and-forth in the store.
I do have a meal planning sheet and feel free to email me at deniseconnects@gmail.com for a copy.
I also use a shopping list app so whenever I discover I am out of an item, I enter it into the list on my app and when I’m at the store I can just whip out my phone and shop. The app I use is called List Ease.
From my suggested methods, you will organize your shopping and can go once a week for fresh perishable items. Keeping an inventory of your freezer and pantry staples will help you know when you have to pick up these items and add them to your shopping list. Some people like to get these items the same store as their regular shopping, but I get my frozen staples at Costco.
It is beneficial to keep your pantry and freezer well-stocked so you always have the ingredients you need handy. By following these suggestions you will have healthier choices for you and your family and will experience less stress.
