Let Your Why-Nots Become Your WHY

I hear this all the time:

“I can’t right now because…”
“My health isn’t that great, I’m going to wait until I feel better.”
“My mindset isn’t there yet, I’m going to wait until I’m truly ready.”
“My kids take up all my free time.”
“My job is stressful.”
“I barely have enough money; I’m living paycheck to paycheck.”

Getting emotional support from a qualified professional – whether it be coaching with me or working with a licensed therapist – should happen BECAUSE of all the reasons I have listed above. Your family, your job, your health, your mind, your finances are WHY you should take care of yourself.

Imagine how your children will benefit from you being more patient, fun, emotionally available to hear out the tough things they might need to share, all because you’ve learned how to love yourself.

Imagine how better you’ll perform professionally; how you’ll handle the demands of the job because you’ll learn to work within your zone of excellence and also learn to set boundaries around intolerable behaviors.

Imagine yourself moving the needle forward on your physical, emotional, and mental health because you learn to master healthy habits rather than continuing to do what doesn’t work.

Imagine you having the creativity and the capacity to generate more wealth rather than continue to experience financial limitations.

Imagine knowing what absolute freedom means to you and learning how to get there! This is what coaching does for you.

You might argue that you don’t really need it because you’ve been managing OK without it. But have you really?

Getting things done by burning yourself out is not sustainable. Stress, frustration, and desperation are not good sources of fuel. They’re not renewable, and they will only lead to more stress, frustration, and desperation.

Managing Your Thoughts is Key

Learning to manage your thoughts will help you feel better about yourself, and this leads to better results in the long run. And it won’t happen when your kids grow up and move out, or when you quit your job. Learning to manage your mind needs to happen so that you feel better about yourself and so that you show up as a more confident person in all areas of your life.

Confidence is not something that you’ll magically feel; it is a capability that you create for yourself over time and with deliberate effort. It requires you to do simple things daily until they become habits that you’ve mastered.

In coaching, we start with identifying your confidence baseline. You will not go from 0-60 overnight because if that worked, there wouldn’t be so many failed New Year’s resolutions or such a thing as a bandwagon. Identifying a baseline will give us the bare minimum that you will focus on daily. I know that this might sound horrible (especially if you’re a perfectionist), so I want you to imagine what could be possible for you if you invested 30 days to master 1 habit, and then another 30 days for the next, and so on. After 4 months, you’ll be a master of FOUR HABITS rather than the zero that you’re mastering right now.

So how do you know if coaching is right for you? Well, to begin, you’ve read this far! That’s a great indication that your mind is intrigued and curious about this.

Curiosity is necessary!

Here are a few important questions to ask yourself in order to decide if coaching together is right for you:

  • Do you consider yourself to be a functional individual, and do you want to be more than just functional?
  • Do you believe that those around will also benefit from you getting the support you need?
  • Do you feel limited by your current life, and do you wonder if there’s something better that’s possible for you?
  • Are you willing to let go of any thoughts and patterns that might be holding you back?
  • Are you willing to put in the work that’s necessary to promote your inner peace?
